HEAD OF SECTION

MICHELE MAY

As Head of Section, Mrs. May oversees GrandChêne’s day-to-day administration and coordinates our educational offer at the maternelle, primary, collège and lycée levels across all our partner schools.

Mrs. May has wide-ranging experience in international education and management in secondary and higher-education institutions in both France and the United States. She has worked in the French system of international education since 2004 and is dedicated to developing this unique inter-cultural dynamic.

Mrs. May is also an BFI History/Geography teacher in the Secondary section.

RUTH HASID

Primary Head Teacher

Both class teacher and responsible for the Primary section programmes. She is an experienced Primary school teacher with a B.Ed Honours degree in Elementary Education and Art, from Christ Church College, University of Kent, England.

ANELLE COETZEE

Primary Teaching Assistant – GS Wednesday

Anelle is from South Africa and is familiar with bilingual education, through her own family and teaching experiences. She teaches the GS class for the Wednesday program. She enjoys exploring various methods of unlocking a child’s learning capacity through both conventional and creative teaching.

RAMONA RAPHAEL

Primary Teacher

Mrs Raphael is a kindergarten and primary English teacher. She has a BA in English Language and Literature. She loves teaching and knows how to support children with educational difficulties. She was born and brought up in London. She also lived in Sydney.

SUNNY HAMICHI

Primary Teacher

Sunny is American. She has a BA in Psychology and has recently graduated with a Master of Education from Pennsylvania State University. Over the past 14 years, she has lived in 4 different countries. Through these experiences, she has developed a deep appreciation for language and communication.

TULAY WARDLE

Primary & Anglais Après La Classe Teacher

Teaches English at the Primary level.  She worked as an English & language teacher in International schools  in Turkey, France and Australia.

CAROLINE ADEMA

Primary & Anglais Après La Classe Teacher & Coordinator

Caroline teaches at both the primary level and AALC. Originally from Ireland and through raising her children in France, she understands the unique asset that a bilingual education has to offer.

SUZIE MONKHOUSE

Primary & Anglais Après La Classe Teacher

Susie teaches 2 groups of AALC. Originally from England where she studied Art, Design and Photography, she moved to Spain then France. She has been teaching English since 2008 and brings a creative approach in her classes.

ORLA GLEESON COHEN

Anglais après La Classe Teacher

Orla is Irish and has been living in France since 1990. Orla teaches 2 groups of AALC and has a sound experience as English as a Foreign Language as well as preparing the children to the Cambridge exams (Starters).

JOCELYN BINCAZ

Collège Teacher

Teaches English Language Literature at the collège level. She has taught in various schools in the Académie de Versailles. She has created and improved various English curricula.

JAYMEE BENNETT

Collège & Lycée Teacher

Teaches English Language Literature at the collège and lycée levels. Mrs Bennett has taught in an international school in Paris before joining the Section Internationale team. She has a good knowledge of the Cambridge International curriculum.

LIAM HYNES

Collège & Lycée Teacher

Teaches History and Geography at the collège and lycée levels, including BFI in History and Geography. M. Hynes has an extensive teaching experience in various international schools in Paris area.

STEPHEN PERA

Collège – Lycée Teacher

Teaches English Language Literature at the collège and lycée levels. He hails from Philadelphia, where he later recieved his BA in English & Science Education (cum laude) from Temple University. Before arriving in France, he taught in the United States as well as abroad in Mongolia, with the Peace Corps and several international schools.

MAGDA SCHMIT

Lycée Teacher

Teaches English Literature and Language and Connaissance du Monde at the lycée level. Born and raised in California, she has a BA with a minor in Creative
Writing from UC Berkeley, an MA from Columbia University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sunderland.

DEBBIE RATTIER

Collège – Lycée Teacher

Teaches English Literature and Language at the collège and lycée levels and OIB Geography, as well as being the Cambridge IGCSE exam coordinator. She has a BA (Hons) in Geography and English literature from the University of London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Sunderland.

STAFF

JODIE SOKHAN

Admissions Manager

She is Franco-British and has a very multicultural family, a family member coming from nearly all continents! She has a DEA and a DESS in international Law, had her first work experiences in NGOs and International Organizations.

ELISE BARTH

Operations & HR Manager

She is French-Lebanese by birth and was educated in a multi-cultural environment. She spent her childhood/teenage years in both France and Lebanon and pursued higher education in France, the UK and Canada. 

FLORENCE LANGLE

Accounting Manager

She joined the Section Internationale in 2017 and heads the accounting department of the section.
